ON THE HISTORY OF ESTABLISHMENT OF THE LIBRARY OF UMAN AGROTECHNICAL COLLEGE

The book plays a big role for everyone, because it accompanies us all our lives. The book is a ship of wisdom, an inexhaustible source of knowledge acquired by mankind over many centuries. Communication with the book helps to acquire certain knowledge, learn the social experience of previous generations, connects to the cultural heritage and values of the Ukrainian people, its customs and traditions. From it we draw more and more knowledge, enrich ourselves spiritually, become more educated. Our desire for books is constantly growing, we want to learn about the world around us to the smallest detail, and we go to the library.

National education in Ukraine is being actively modernized. This complex process of restructuring requires full information support. And here it is difficult to overestimate the role of libraries.

One of the most important tasks of libraries in the modern world is to ensure free, unrestricted access to information and preservation of its sources. The modern library is not only a collection of books, but also a kind of treasure trove of knowledge that opens access to information to mankind.

Educating students in reading culture, love for the textbook, development of skills in working with the library fund, the formation of library and bibliographic knowledge - the tasks on which the staff of our library is working.

In the 1930s, Ukraine began to develop a system of public education, and educational institutions were opened to train personnel for various branches of industry and agriculture. Thus, in May 1930, the Uman Technical School of Mechanization and Electrification of Agriculture was established on the basis of a vocational school. The first graduation took place in 1931. It was in 1930 that the library began to function.

We consider it our duty and honor to pay tribute to those people whose dedicated work formed and enriched the library fund, increased its authority and share in the training of highly qualified specialists in agricultural production of our state.

Usually such an opportunity is given by archival documents, to which we turned. According to archival data at that time, the book fund of the library was about 100 copies of literature.

During the Great Patriotic War, the college was closed, most of the workers went to the front. Therefore, orderly record keeping, which is reflected in the archival documents (orders, reports, orders, etc.) of the college, began to be conducted in 1944, immediately after the liberation of Uman from Nazi invaders.

The first archival information concerning the library staff shows that on September 6, 1944 by order of the director of the technical school LA Belousov, Zlunitsyna Maria Mykolayivna, who at that time held the position of secretary of the educational unit, was entrusted to take care of the library.

The book fund of the library at that time was only 325 copies.

Over the years, the book fund grew, which led to an increase in the workload of the head of the library and to help her was appointed Melnikova AL, who worked as a librarian until 1946.

Over time, Vasylyaka-Shchydlovska GM worked as the head of the library and librarians. (09.1945 - 08.1947), Sviderska RK (06.1946 - 09.1947), Gushlya MT (09.1947 - 10.1948), Salienko GK (10.1948-08.1949), Novakivska MI (07.1949 - 0.1952), Polishchuk (Makogon) S.Ya. (08.1952 - 06.1988).

Sofia Yakivna's long 35-year career as the head of the library coincided with the collapse of the Soviet Union and Ukraine's entry into the phase of independent development as an independent state. It was at this time that the state's attention to librarianship and library staff increased. A number of relevant normative documents were adopted to improve their work: publishing houses and their cooperation with libraries were established, textbooks and other literature were centralized, subscriptions to periodicals were streamlined, librarians' salaries were increased, and so on. All this imposed increased responsibility for the quality of the library's work, which Sofia Yakivna creatively coped with at one time.

Due to the constant increase in the book fund of the library (at that time the book fund was 34,500 copies) and the number of students in 1969 to help Polishchuk S.Ya. another full-time unit was introduced and Nadiya Mykolayivna Bodnar, who had not left her favorite job for almost 23 years, came to work as a librarian.

After Sofia Yakivna retired, Lyubov Mykolayivna Kovalchuk became the head of the library - an English teacher by profession, who held this position until February 11, 2002.

From 11.02.2002 to 15.01.2007 and from December 2, 2011 to the present, Larysa Leonidivna Angarska has been working as the head of the library.

In the period from January 16, 2007 to December 1, 2011 the head of the library was Chmeruk (Zhulinska) Halyna Hryhorivna.

The prestige and authority of the technical school grew every year not only in our region, but also in the country, which had a positive impact on the annual growth of the student body. Not only the contingent of students grew, but also the number of specialties in which they studied. This, in turn, required the college administration to replenish the fund with new textbooks, according to the curricula of these new specialties.

Standing at the sources of the word, in different years in the formation of the student's personality participated Irina Petrovna Masliy (1974-1976), Natalia Alekseevna Kavun (1976-1979), Lyubov Nikolaevna Kovalchuk (1979-1988) .), Elena Nikolaevna Fitenko (1987 - 1992) and others.

Every year the volume of work in the library increased. Therefore, it was strengthened in terms of staff - another staff unit was introduced - a librarian-bibliographer, whose responsibilities included the processing of new educational literature received by the library. Karpenko-Georgadze Iryna Ivanivna (1984-1987), Oleshchenko Olga Borysivna (1987-1988), Iryna Samardak (1988-1990) invested their strength, skills and talents in this work.

As the years went by, the history of the institution changed, more and more employees came to the vacated positions in the library.

In June 1988, Svitlana Valentinovna Chornozub was hired as a librarian. A former student of the College of Mechanization, she successfully graduated from Vinnytsia State Agrarian University and is currently working creatively in the library.

And on August 1, 1990, Halyna Hryhorivna Chmeruk (Zhulinska) was accepted as a librarian, who honestly instills a love for books in every student of our college even today. She has a higher pedagogical education, which she received without leaving the production. She realizes her pedagogical abilities in her work even now. Experienced, knowledgeable, in love with their work Fomenko Inna Olehivna (1992-1993), Sokyrka Alla Petrovna (1993-1995) temporarily worked as librarians for some time.

From 1995 to 1997 Svitlana Mykolayivna Yarova worked as a librarian who served the reading room.

In 2007 and 2009 Lyudmyla Vasylivna Davydyak (02.2007-07.2007), Svitlana Oleksandrivna Korchak (09.2007 - 02.2008), Yuliya Mykolaivna Marun (2008 - 2009) worked as librarians of the reading room.

In June 2009, Victoria Vladimirovna Krivoshia was accepted to this position. Former student of our college, who successfully graduated from Uman National University of Horticulture. With a flexible mind, ingenuity by nature, striving to know more, she skillfully used her knowledge in working with students. Since 2011 she has been transferred to another position within the college.

Those who love our school, and even more so the library, are sure to return to their native walls. They are like a magnet to attract dedicated people. So it happened with Larysa Leonidivna Angarska. Since 2011 she has resumed her work in the library as the head of the library. Having two higher educations - a metallurgical engineer and a teacher of philology, she successfully uses her knowledge in the library business.

Today LL Angarska, GG Zhulinska and SV Chornozub dedicate themselves to the modern library of the college - authors of many scripts on various topics, collections of educational activities, field educational activities, presentations of educational and methodical literature, collections of poems; organizers of various conferences, presentations and other educational events.

Today's "intellectual temple" of Uman Agrotechnical College has a book fund of more than 36 thousand copies, the annual publisher is more than 88 thousand copies.

In 2014-2016, the library staff conducted 25 educational and educational activities: 2014 - 9, 2015 - 10, 2016. - 6.
